My name is Aaliyah, I am a 23 year old female, aspiring to become a UX/UI designer! I bring a positive attitude to everything I do and pride myself on being humble, compassionate and approachable - you will very rarely see me without a smile on my face.

Alongside design, sport has been a significant part of my life. I have played football since the age of eight and currently play at a semi-professional level. Over the years, I have also coached young players and managed a team, experiences that have strengthened my communication, teamwork and leadership skills. Being captain for two different clubs has taught me how to lead by example, and motivate those around me to perform at their best.

I currently work in a primary school. Being around children aged 5-11 has developed my patience, empathy and ability to understand different perspectives. I am a strong listener and adapt my communication to meet individual needs which is equally valuable in user-centred design.

Although stepping outside of my comfort zone can be challenging, I have consistently demonstrated my ability to embrace new experiences and grow from them. I have taken part in filming projects for Ultimate Goal, Ted Lasso and the Nike app, all centred around football. While being in front of cameras was initially daunting, these experiences helped me to grow in confidence and become more comfortable in new environments. I hope to continue that same journey of growth, and expand my skills as I develop my career in UX/UI design.
